The incident took place on the sidelines of a kabaddi tournament at Mallian Kalan village of Shahkot.
Jalandhar (Rural) Deputy Superintendent of Police (Nakodar) Lakhwinder Singh reported the 40-12 months-previous player hailed from Nangal Ambiyan village in Shahkot. But he, together with his family members, was settled in England.
Sandeep used to organise kabaddi tournaments in Punjab. Police explained when Sandeep came out of the match internet site, four unknown assailants opened fireplace on him.
Law enforcement suspect eight to 10 bullets were pumped into the kabaddi participant. The Deputy Superintendent of Law enforcement said 10 vacant bullet shells were being located from the spot.
Soon after Sandeep was shot, he was taken to a medical center in Nakodar exactly where he was declared useless, said law enforcement. A movie of the firing incident also went viral on social media. Police stated additional investigation was underway.
